Making Simple Masala Chai Tea
Basic Chai Recipe
- 1 tsp chai tea
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk or soy milk
You can obtain chai tea in the tea aisle of most grocers today, or at a local tea shop.
Like all teas, leaf form (no tea bags) gives the best and strongest paper, and no hint of paper-flavor.
Tips
The secret is to brew it slowly over low heat, and make sure it doesn't boil (to avoid scalded milk taste). Use about 1/2 milk and 1/2 water A bit of hyoney and teaspoon of rose water at the end of brewing adds some sweetness
