Mike's Garlic-Cheese-Filled Crust
Simple as...
- Make basic pizza dough recipe
- Flour your cutting board
- Roll out into a large, thin, rectangular shape
- Cover lightly with olive oil, leaving about 1 inch edge un-oiled
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella & Parmesan, leaving about 1 inch edge clear
- Sprinkle Peri Peri, Ground Black Pepper, or whatever spices you like
- Starting from the near end, roll up the dough into a tube so that the ingredients are trapped inside.
- Squeeze the ends to seal them, and the closing edge, so you have one solid dough tube of ingredients.
Part 2;
- Gently roll the tube without breaking it until it becomes a long, thin strand, maybe 1.5 metres.
- Reflour your board if needed
- Starting from one end, wind the tube around itself to form a spiral shape. The starting end will be the center of the spiral, everything else wrapping around it.
- You will have a spiral circle of dough, with the ingredients on the inside.
- Gently roll flat into your round pizza base
Top with ingredients, bake, and serve hot.
